A majority part of the world has already lifted all the social distancing and travel restrictions. But Hong Kong still has rather strict rules in the hope of minimizing Covid cases, including hotel quarantine for seven days for all inbound flyers (for cabin crew, we are even required to submit a report tracking our activities in the first seven days after a duty flight and refrained from mass gathering and crowded places.) This inconvenience has caused hesitation for many businesses and tourists to enter the city. It’s also true for some international exhibitors of Art Basel, the world’s leading fair in the international contemporary art market. As those galleries decided that it wasn’t efficient for them to send a representative onsite, the organizer hired a group of temporary staff, many of which are flight attendants like me, to introduce their precious artworks to visitors.
